The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor to take responsibility in ensuring Council’s buildings are maintained for maximum preservation and presentation. You will be allocating and supervising the completion of various building repair and maintenance services by Council staff, contractors and Consultants.


Positioned within Council’s Operations department and reporting directly to the Coordinator Facilities Management & Maintenance, you will be accountable for the following:

  • Developing, implementing and supervising the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance Programs and Repairs for building fabric and fittings, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, pest control, panting, aquatics equipment, lift maintenance and other facility maintenance programs
  • Managing and allocating repairs for a wide range of building maintenance services
  • Ensuring staff and contractors work within and adopt safe work practices in accordance with all relevant acts and Council’s policies and procedures
  • Undertaking building inspection programs which identify needs for building repairs and maintenance


About You

To succeed in this position, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Relevant qualification in a building trade such as Carpentry, Electrical or Plumbing trade(s).
  • High level understanding and experience in the development, implementation and delivery of Planned Preventative Programs for a wide range building services
  • Excellent computer skills in particular the use of Microsoft Office
  • High level of understanding of the Building Code of Australia, Building Regulations, the Disability Discrimination Action Act and Equitable Access Regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of OH&S Regulations is essential
  • Current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
