Cultural Facilities Assistant



Casual Employment – GRADE 4 $28.46 to $32.73 plus applicable loadings


We are seeking to appoint our next front-line ambassadors to promote our city as a place to live, work and invest.


Initially working across our various Cultural Assets; the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, Albert Kersten Mining & Mineral Museum, Visitor Information Centre and the Civic Centre you will use your retail and/or hospitality skills to provide memorable and wonderful customer experiences for all members, residents, visitors, artists, exhibitors and hirers of these venues.


This position is responsible for assisting to promote our City as a place to live, work and invest by creating wonderful customer experiences for all members, residents, visitors, artists, exhibitors and hirers of our cultural facilities. The position supports retail operations within our cultural facilities and hospitality services for events.


We are seeking candidates who have a background in or a keen interest to learn in the following areas:

  • Lighting and sound desk technologies;
  • Basic building/construction framework;
  • Conferencing/Events productions;
  • Gallery exhibition installations.


A key component of the position will be to enhance Council’s public image through responsive and effective liaison and communication with the community, businesses and other stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will possess and be able to demonstrate the following:
