Located 16 km's north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and is set in one of New South Wales' most attractive natural environments.


Council is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced professional for the role of Facilities Team Leader.


Reporting to the Building Assets Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Venue set up including security, equipment and cleaning
  • Arrange for or act as officer in charge at functions ensuring that users comply with Council's policies, terms and conditions of use
  • Coordination of general building repairs and maintenance works
  • Ensuring operation and maintenance of plant and equipment is undertaken in accordance with manufacturers specifications and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Work with maintenance contractors, building services and sustainability staff to ensure Council's buildings operate in an energy efficient manner
  • Assist the Building Asset Coordinator in the preparation of process control documentation
  • Develop and make recommendations to continuously improve services provided by the Building Services section

Required Qualifications/Certificates:

  • Hospitality/Venue organizer, Trade qualifications or equivalent
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Workplace Health and Safety White Card
  • Current or eligibility to hold a First Aid Certificate

Required experience/skills:

  • Experience in the operations of venue set up and support and/or hospitality industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deal with building security matters
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning, chemicals and practices
  • An understanding of basic audio/visual and lighting requirements
  • Experience in undertaking and /or coordinating general building repairs and maintenance works
  • Extensive relevant supervision of cleaning staff, building contractors and service providers
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to motivate a team
  • Judgement and problem solving skills


This is a great opportunity for a hands-on person to coordinate and manage Council's venues, ensuring they meet presentation standards.
