Council currently has a vacancy within the Tree Planning and Management Division for an experienced Arboriculturalist.

Your new role:

We are seeking a qualified and motivated arborist to work within the tree team to deliver a high level of presentation and maintenance for the City’s trees in streets, parks, gardens, reserves and sportsgrounds as well as delivering quality customer service. 

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Undertake arboriculture duties including pruning, removal, fertilising, planting and tree watering
  • Implement maintenance programs and work schedules to agreed service levels. Provide industry input in refining these programs in association with the street tree audit.
  • Operate and maintain Council plant and equipment with an emphasis on elevated work platform, truck, loader, chipper, chainsaw, and tractor and implement operation.

To be successful you must possess:

  • A Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture)
  • Class MR Truck Driver’s Licence
  • Chainsaw Certificate Crosscut/Felling
  • WH&S Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard)
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • A sound knowledge of trees, chemical application, pest/disease control and
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team.
