Reporting directly to the Director Corporate Services, the Corporate Manager will provide subject matter advice, management and direction of business activities, corporate services, financial affairs and effective governance enabling achievement of council goals and strategic objectives.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manage business and Corporate reporting functions including the coordination of council’s annual report.
  • Develop appropriate integration tools and/or systems to ensure alignment between all informing strategies (Workforce Plan, Asset Management Plan, Forward Capital Works Plan, ICT Plan) with the Annual Budget, Long Term Financial Plan, Corporate Business Plan and Strategic Community Plan.
  • Extensively consult with management to identify risk and assign accountability for all legislative obligations across Council
  • Ensure that the informing strategies and plans for the Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan are integrated and robust.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure all informing strategies and plans related to the integrated planning and reporting framework are aligned to the annual budget and long term financial plan.
  • Champion change and innovation through Council’s strategic initiatives by supporting integrated planning/reporting and being an ambassador for continuous improvement at all levels of the organisation.
  • Partner with and act as internal consultant to service units and staff to develop quality, integrated strategic plans that are relevant to anddeliver on Council’s strategic direction and priorities.

  • Relevant qualifications at a tertiary level or equivalent experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence effective outcomes
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and investigative skills to provide sound advice, options and recommendations, to influence project outcomes
  • Ability to provide specialist advice in relation to finance, compliance and risk
  • Demonstrated project management and research skills
  • Skilled at identifying stakeholders and weighting their objectives and concerns
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Integrated Planning and Reporting
