An opportunity exists with Ngaanyatjarra Council for a CDP Case Manager to join our CDP team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person with a strong interest in remote communities to make a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal people.

About the role

Your primary role will be to provide case management to participants on the Community Development Programme (CDP) so that they can fulfil their mutual obligation requirements under CDP. 

This will involve regularly meeting with your caseload of CDP participants, informing them of their mutual obligation requirements, developing job plans, linking CDP participants to Work for the Dole activities, administering attendance data and completing associated IT processes for your caseload. 

You will also be required to investigate reasons for non-attendance and to support and encourage CDP participants to obtain paid employment. 

Your key duties will include but not limited to:

Provide integrated case management for CDP participants, including face-to-face appointments and associated IT processes for:

  • direct registration of participants onto the CDP Programme;
  • initial interviews with participants to inform them of their mutual obligation requirements under CDP, to DHS and determine their participation requirements;
  • developing individual and tailored Job Plans in consultation with participants;
  • initial and ongoing contact appointments with participants to review their progress and determine what assistance they require;
  • placing CDP participants into suitable Work for the Dole activities;
  • managing and processing participant attendance at Work for the Dole activities;
  • completing Participation Reports for non-engagement in Work for the Dole activities; and
  • referrals to relevant job vacancies and any other relevant services.

Manage CDP IT system diary appointments ensuring that participant contacts are conducted within the relevant timeframes. 

About You

We are looking for an organised and motivated candidate with:

  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including the ability to process comprehensive information on computers and online platforms. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records (electronic and paper-based) and to understand and implement contractual requirements and guidelines.
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and to achieve outcomes in a demanding environment.
  • An ability to interact with, and develop a rapport with, people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Shows initiative with a proven ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in the ECSN IT System and/or a good understanding of employment services programs
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Cleared Police and Working with Children checks.
  • Cleared Working with Children check


The position comes with an attractive remuneration package that includes a base salary of $67,328 pa, plus 9.5% superannuation, 8 weeks leave per annum, 17.5% leave loading, PBI salary packaging, $4,333 remote living allowance, annual airfare and free accommodation and utilities.
