Major Events Officer

Purpose of the Role

Based in Dalby, you will be responsible for co-ordinating event planning and operational activities, including financial management and reporting.  This role is critical to deliver major events in the Western Downs such as Opera at Jimbour and Big Skies.

Reporting to the Major Events Senior Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate events to drive positive economic growth & community engagement;
  • Develop & maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Implement continuous improvements in event delivery methodologies;
  • Undertake financial management of major events including revenue, expenditure and budget development;
  • Explore ways to actively promote Council's major events and event capabilities;
  • Have a Diploma in event management, or equivalent related experience;
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in major events or a related field; and
  • Have a high level organisational skills and an ability to work independently.
