About Us

Moonee Valley City Council is a vibrant and diverse municipality. We are a local government within the north-west metropolitan area of Melbourne, providing a range of services to some 127,000 residents and over 10,000 businesses.

Moonee Valley City Council provides library services at five locations across the municipality: Ascot Vale Library, Avondale Heights Library and Learning Centre, Flemington Library, Niddrie Library and Sam Merrifield Library (Moonee Ponds).

Services include availability and borrowing of books and other materials, information provision, access to computers and the internet, online services, multipurpose spaces and programs for everyone.

 

The Opportunity

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced customer service professional to work as part of Council’s friendly and encouraging library team. You will take responsibility in providing high-quality customer service to our library members, in addition to assisting with serials control and providing administrative support.

 

About You

To be successful in this position, you will possess the following:

  • Satisfactory completion of a secondary schooling required. Satisfactory completion of a diploma in Administration, Business or Library studies preferred;
  • Customer service experience in a public library environment;
  • Experience in serials control requirements in a public library; and
  • Current and valid Working With Children Check
