Aquatics & Facilities Officer



The Town is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Facilities team. The role will operate the plant and ensure water quality compliance at Marquee Park Splash and Play and provide administrative support and including inspections with the Town’s aquatic and stadium facilities.


The position will be based in Port Hedland, a town of rich heritage, spectacular landscapes, friendliness, a diverse and embracing community and relaxed lifestyle. As the largest bulk export port in the world, the town is home to global resource leaders and is significant to the national interest.

Fundamental to this role is experience and qualifications in operating and maintaining a Group 1 Aquatic Leisure facility, excellent oral and written communication, budgeting, sound administrative skills and experience in undertaking building and facility inspections.


An onsite caretaker’s house is provided with the position, and the incumbent will be required to respond to incidents and maintenance duties outside of normal business hours as required to maintain the operational function of Marquee Park.

The successful candidate will receive a pro rata salary of $90,678.64per annum. The remuneration package also includes six weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading (pro-rata based), wellness program which includes discounted gym membership and pool passes, superannuation co-contribution scheme, training and professional development opportunities, family oriented and lifestyle supportive working conditions.


*Accommodation will be provided by the Town and is a one bedroom house at a heavily subsidised rate. Should this property not meet the requirements of the preferred candidate, alternate arrangements can be made at the discretion and cost of the candidate.
