The Construction Planner is responsible for the delivery of construction projects and allocation of resources, including cost estimating, benchmarking, and project planning services. This role provides interface between Local Government Procurement and Team Leaders on project procurement and prepares project document packages, including cost estimates and tracking, records management, project management plans, and resident letters


Key activities of this role include: 

  • Review of engineering design drawings and the cost estimation of projects based on those drawings;
  • Preparation of construction project document packages including cost and time estimates, records management, project management plans and other WHS and Quality Assurance documentation;
  • Ordering of construction materials including drainage pits and pipes, pavement materials, concrete works etc.;
  • Provide benchmarking input to the Construction Delivery team including comparison of construction rates between various relevant areas, including internal and contractor delivery through to calculation and updating of construction team unit rates;
  • Provide assistance in the use of the ERP procurement system, (or Council’s procurement system), for procurement of goods and services for construction projects.

This role provides a salary range between $1,455 to $1,745 per week ($75,833 to $91,019 per annum) includes Civil Liability Allowance of 3.5% + superannuation
