About the Role

In this newly created role, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the day to day delivery of the Sustainability and Resilience section of the Environment Department. The role will develop and guide environmental sustainability and resilience programs, deliver projects and include related services and accountabilities.  

Delivery will be very diverse and include the development of strategy, in the facilitation, implementation and overseeing of policies and deliverables associated with portfolio. Areas of delivery include climate change and resilience planning, net zero, sustainable transport and ecological sustainable development, waterway management and community programs.

You will also work closely work with the Department Manager in actively contributing to business planning and overall policy direction of the Environment Department. 

Key Requirements

  • A relevant graduate degree level qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental sustainability policies and principles including net zero, resilience and climate change issues
  • Extensive experience in the provision of environmental sustainability activities and programs, including delivery of corporate reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of skilled professionals
  • Well-developed written communication skills as well as a sound understanding of statutory reporting requirements
  • Autonomy, with proven planning, project management and financial/budgeting skills
  • Strong problem solving skills with a client service and stakeholder focus
  • Covid-19 vaccinated

Your commencing annual salary will range from $109,514 to $120,198 + superannuation + leaseback vehicle, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
