THE POSITION:

Engineering Draftsperson is a key member of the Design Services Team within Fairfield City Council. The position reports to the Design Services Coordinator and works collectively with other team members to deliver the Design Program.

Interested candidates must address the “Essential” and “Desirable” criteria outlined below to be considered for this position:

ESSENTIAL: 

• Demonstrated capability of applying knowledge of software packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated experience in investigation, and development of options related to civil and engineering design
• Demonstrated problem solving, reasoning and conflict resolution skills
• Applied knowledge of engineering survey procedures and develop base plans
• Applied knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS1742) and guidelines (e.g. Transport for NSW, AustRoads, ARR2019)
• Certificate IV in Engineering related field with relevant experience or lesser formal qualification and substantial experience in a Local Government Environment or closely related field
• Class C, New South Wales Drivers Licence or equivalent

Desirable:    

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

• Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight
• The salary range (Grade 4) is $69,704 p.a. with progression to $ 81,648 p.a. based on demonstrated competencies
• Statutory superannuation contribution is paid in addition to the salary
• Flexible working hours are available
• A uniform is provided
