Family and Children’s Services is responsible for the coordination, advice, education and delivery of a broad range of services for children and families from 0-17 years of age. This includes Early Years Services (long day, occasional and kindergarten), Family Services, Maternal and Child Health, Immunisation and a Planning Team.

The Opportunity

Working within a team of professional Early Childhood Educators, you will be responsible in assisting the delivery of high-quality education and care that supports the safety, participation, wellbeing and empowerment of children.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Working according to the Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and curriculum frameworks.
  • Working in collaboration with the team to plan and implement play-based programs.
  • Documenting children’s learning, development, interest and abilities, including setting individual and group goals.
  • Initiating and promoting warm and intentional interactions with children as a key learning strategy.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of curriculums within the learning program.

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma of Children's Services or equivalent, as recognised by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and in accordance with the Education and Care National Law Act 2010 & the Education and Care National Services Regulations 2011.
  • Relevant experience in working in children’s services in line with Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and curriculum frameworks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards.
  • Ability to self-manage work requirements in liaison with room team and supervisor, taking a leadership role as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other early childhood educators, to provide appropriate culturally sensitive and inclusive educational programs.
  • Hold a current and valid, or willingness to obtain: Working with Children’s Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR Certificate, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Management certificates.
