Festival & Events Officer

Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre is seeking a Festival & Events Officer to assist with the the delivery of the exciting Festival of Arts, Global Grooves and New Year’s Eve River Party, as well as similar style Festivals & Events in the region. This is a permanent fulltime role. While event experience is preferable, great customer service, strong administration skills, project management experience and a outgoing and positive attitude will assist you in delivering the responsibilities of this role.

The successful applicant will:

• Have experience in festival and event coordination along with developing and implementing effective sponsorship strategies.
• Experience assisting in developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies.
• Be confident and skilled in spreadsheets and publishing software and maintaining websites.
• Be passionate about performing arts and understand relevant legal and risk management requirements.
• Proactively identify opportunities contributing effectively and harmoniously to continuous improvement in a supportive team environment.
• Enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team with a positive outlook.
• QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence

Blue Card - It is an essential requirement for this position to hold a Working with Children Blue Card. Under Queensland legislation, you must hold the Blue Card prior to commencing employment – No Card, No Start policy. Candidates who hold Qualifications in Event Management or Marketing will be highly regarded

Salary and benefit details:

• Base Annual Salary $67,804
• Superannuation contributions up to 18% (conditions apply)
• Any 5 out of 7 roster
