The Executive Officer of Tourism, presents an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to provide effective and efficient management and leadership of Tourism in the region. Council will be accepting applications to fill the permanent full time position until Wednesday 8 June 2022. Late applications may not be considered.

The Position

The successful applicant of this position will be responsible for improving the overall visitor experience and visitor numbers, as well as working towards increasing the total value of tourism to the local economy. The position offers an opportunity for the successful incumbent to work with key stakeholders to develop and improve the ongoing tourism strategy for the Longreach Region.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in the role you will, possess strong leadership and communication skills and have the ability to be able to work with a variety of people. You will have demonstrated time management skills and a working knowledge of the industry with a genuine passion for Tourism and creating excellent customer experiences. It is highly desirable for the successful applicant to have qualifications in Tourism or Business or the ability and willingness to obtain in addition to demonstrated experience working within the Tourism Industry.

Salary and Conditions

The position is classified as a Level 6 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017 and offers an annual cash annual wage of $78,116.00 to $79,884.00 inclusive of all allowances and leave loading. This position also has the following benefits:

• Up to 12% Superannuation Contribution;
• Rostered Days Off;
• 5 Weeks Annual Leave (17.5% Leave Loading);
• 15 Days Sick Leave;

• Training and Professional Development Opportunities.
• Provision of relocation expenses may be negotiated.
