An exciting opportunity is on offer for a Bushfire Mitigation Officer to join our Regulatory Services team to develop, maintain and implement the City’s bushfire risk management plans.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of emergency management and bushfire risk management, including an understanding of the role of landholders and agencies in the management of bushfire risk.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying bushfire mitigation strategies that sustain the natural environment by maintaining conservation values and biodiversity.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in the application of risk management principles.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to liaise, consult and effectively negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven experience working with GIS systems including the ability to accurately and effectively perform data entry, analysis and reporting.
