We currently have an exciting vacancy in our Growth Team for a Senior Strategic Planner to join us in making the Wollondilly Shire an even better place, together.

This includes communicating and promoting relevant planning policies, facilitation of environmental outcomes, and supporting the economic and housing growth of Wollondilly in growth centres including both Greater Macarthur/Appin and Wilton New Town.

As a Senior Strategic Planner with Council, your day will consist of, but not be limited to:

  • Communicate and promote Council’s policies to the community, staff, industry, and other agencies, researching, mediating, and preparing options to a range of stakeholders that clearly respond to any issues as they arise.
  • Advocate for positive outcomes in growth areas and other Shire wide planning matters which include assessment and response to State-led projects

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency in the following essential experience and qualifications:

  • Degree qualifications in Town Planning or related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas:Class C Drivers Licence.
    • Assessment of land capability having regard to legislation.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the legislative process applicable to Local Government as they relate to strategic land use planning.
    • Ability to complete and manage long term complex planning projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate in written and oral forms, including the preparation of written studies, plans and strategies to a high degree of accuracy
