The MacDonnell region is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges. This position is located in Amoonguna, which is 21km outside of Alice Springs. The community of Amoonguna has 275 residents who are mostly Eastern and Central Arrernte speakers. MacDonnell Regional Council provides home care services, youth development, night patrol service and a community store. MacDonnell Council is contracted by Power Water Corporation to maintain the water and sewerage facilities. A Health Clinic and Primary school both operate in Amoonguna. As the Store Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring effective store operations and customer service, through effective implementation and management of retail operations. Our successful candidate will ideally hold a current Drivers Licence, Certificate 3 in Business Administration or the willingness to obtain and, at least 2 years' experience in a similar role. The suitable candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively in a range of cross cultural situations in positive and professional manner.
