Team Leader City Events and Activations

The Team Leader City Events and Activations will provide strategic leadership, support and guidance to the City Events and Activations Team to achieve team outcomes, implement Council's Events Calendar, and develop and implement Council’s Activation Plan to ensure the consistent delivery of events across Council.

This position will lead by example and ensure that all events staff perform their tasks to a high professional standard, with attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that Council's brand and reputation is promoted and displayed with integrity at all events and activities.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide leadership, support and guidance to the team to achieve outcomes.
  • Provide on-going staff performance measures, individual work plans, training and development requirements,
  • Manage the planning, promotion and implementation of Council events.
  • Monitor community expectations and latest industry standards to ensure Council events are innovative and relative.
  • Ongoing monitoring and review of events and activities undertaken within the department

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or similar
  • Extensive experience in event development
  • Demonstrated experience as a Team Leader
  • A high level of communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in contract management including a demonstrable understanding of risk management and WH&S requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in adding creative elements and or implementing new initiatives to events that improve event presentation, content and or delivery
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with marketing, sponsorship and PR/media requirements within events

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $101,511 (Grade I, Step1) + 10% super
