Customer Service Officer
Mackay Regional Council is looking for an experienced Customer Service Officer to join our team on a Fulltime Permanent basis. This opportunity will be based out at our Mirani office.
The role involves:
- First line of enquiry for BoQ, QGAP and Council customers
- Demonstrate proactive professional customer service skills in a fast-paced environment
- Attempt to resolve enquiries at first point of contact
- Logging of customer requests (in Pathway)
- Records and database management in Council’s electronic record management system, ensuring accuracy, integrity and confidentiality
- Provide consistent and high-quality service standard to our customers
- Respond to customer enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
- Respond to customer enquiries from multiple communication avenues
- Manage your own work performance to meet set objectives
- Ensure every customer is treated with an empathetic approach
- Ad hoc administrative support
A bit about you:
- High volume Contact Centre experience an advantage
- Computer literacy skills with high levels of data entry accuracy and speed
- Strong systems capability with Microsoft Office skills essential
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people
- High resilience level and the ability to work well under pressure
- Experience working in a team-based environment
- Flexible work approach and able to adapt to an ever-changing working environment
- Cash handling experience is essential
Candidates who have Banking or QGAP/Department of Transport and Main Roads experience will be highly regarded.
