Mackay Regional Council have an opportunity for a motivated and experienced Contracts Officer to join our Procurement and Plant team on a permanent full-time basis.

About this opportunity:

The Contracts Officer contributes to the operational success of the Mackay Regional Council through the effective control of Council’s tendering and contract management functions.

Under general direction, the position provides advice to clients regarding appropriate tendering documentation and processes and ensures appropriate risk management strategies are in place. The position reports to Council as required and ensures compliance with Council’s Procurement Policy and Tender and Contracts Manual.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of knowledge in contract law, contract administration as well as tender and contract documentation. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including report writing.
