The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) has a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Services Coordinator to join our team.

No two days are the same at the MECC, as we deliver events across our entertainment and convention centre, BB Print Stadium and Foodspace Mackay. The venue has a proud record of high quality catering services from gala dinners to Elton John with a team of chefs and catering administration to support this success.

The successful candidate will have:

• Demonstrated significant experience in a similar role within an Arts, Entertainment, Hospitality or Sporting venue.
• Experience in planning and implementing food and beverage requirements to deliver a high level of customer service within budgetary and time constraints.
• Extensive experience coordinating functions and events, preferably in an institutional functions environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Events, Project Management or related field
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate and RMLV (Responsible Management of a Licensed Venue) Certificate.
• Current Queensland “C” Class drivers licence.
• Candidates with experience in Point of Sales Systems and Electronic Booking Software such as EBMS will be highly regarded.

More about the role:

• Responsible for end to end operation of MECC catering and retail food and beverage outlets
• Manage and coordinate catering priorities including cost effective staff rostering
• Service delviery meeting our MECC customer service standards
• Coordinate, supervise and set priorities for Catering and Kitchen Supervisors and staff
• Develop in association with the Executive Chef, cost effective and innovative menus/wine lists and new offerings to meet industry benchmarks and current trends.
