  • Assessment of development proposals with regard to their potential impact on the natural, built and social environment with specific consideration to planning matters
  • Assistance in the preparation and review of plans which will provide controls in respect to developments and land use matters
  • Involvement in dealing with issues associated with the functions and responsibilities of Shire Planning

Things You’ll Do

  • Assess applications in accordance with legislation and policy within a timely manner to meet target dates
  • Review plans and provide planning input into controls for development and land use matters
  • Represent the Council at the Land and Environment Court, panel briefings and meetings and other appropriate forums
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to achieve superior development outcomes in the community
  • Provide exceptional customer service to community members in relation to their development proposals and assist customers with the redesign of submissions

 The Fine Print:

  • Apply by submitting your resume and a cover letter that addresses the following - your qualification, experience in development assessment & determination of development applications within local government, your experience in duty planning enquiries and your knowledge in applying NSW Planning Legislation in DA Assessment

  • Interview date: Successful applicants progressing to the next stage will be contacted for interviews which will be facilitated Thursday 9 June 2022
  • Package: Salary will be based on experience starting from $77,556 gross p.a. plus superannuation
  • Hours of work: Both permanent, full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Full-time positions are 35 hours per week with the option of a 19 day month
