Mitchell Shire Council has embarked on Victoria’s last great story of growth.

Located just 40 minutes from Melbourne where the city meets the country, we’re renowned for our scenic beauty that’s rich in both history and heritage. We’re home to a mix of beautiful natural landscapes, townships and emerging communities in some of Australia’s fastest-growing suburbs. Our organisation is growing and we’re building for a truly exciting future – with more than 170,000 people expected to move into our municipality over the next 20 years.

With that growth, comes a truly rare and outstanding opportunity to join our senior leadership team – to make your mark and create a legacy for our community. We’ve embraced a flexible working culture and are redefining how we deliver services and programs to our residents and businesses.

As Manager, Community Planning and Delivery you’ll play a pivotal role in planning for housing balance, infrastructure and services to support our growing communities.

This broad and challenging portfolio brings oversight of a range of functions including social planning, the management of our leisure centres and services, recreation and open space.

You’ll bring a passion for positive community outcomes, be adept and willing to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and balance often competing needs with complex policy, process, organisational and political dynamics.

A champion for positive change, you’ll quickly establish your reputation as a trusted advisor for senior decision-makers and provide leadership, direction and support to your team.

You’ll be politically astute and bring a strong understanding of growth areas, you’ll embrace problems, think strategically and analytically and implement tactical solutions.

You’ll bring a proven track record in leading and managing people and be part of a dynamic, focussed and energetic team that has a genuine passion for achieving the best for our community.

We’ve embraced a flexible working culture at Mitchell that provides our people with the opportunity to maintain a healthy work and life balance while performing challenging yet rewarding work.
