Information Technology in North Sydney Council aims to ensure the efficient planning, implementation, and application of information technology to support the Council’s service delivery, in line with the North Sydney Council Community Strategic Plan. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results driven Senior Applications Specialist to help deliver our application services within the Information Technology team. Reporting to the Team Leader Application Services, this role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, maintenance, support and development of Council’s Application and Asset Maintenance Services. You will be able to expand your knowledge, strategic thought and ideas working with many different types of enthusiastic business sections within council through projects that will benefit staff processes and council’s delivery of enhanced digital services to customers The successful candidate will have strong problem solving and technical skillsets with a strong Customer Service focused mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills within a team environment. What you will be doing The Senior Applications Specialist is a key role within North Sydney Council’s IT Division. The role is responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, maintenance, support, and development of Council’s Application Services. Council-wide Applications comprise of Corporate (Financial, Asset Maintenance, Administrative, Business Intelligence and Content Management), Internal and Public Facing. The Senior Applications Specialist will have extensive experience administering Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Asset Maintenance Systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. It is a requirement that the Senior Applications Specialist be organised and detail-oriented; comfortable working with diverse teams (both outward and inward-facing); can develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and meet deadlines. As council integrates and innovates the Senior Applications Specialist will be expected to bring understanding of integration pathways and subject matter expertise of council’s ERP system As a member of a small Team, and reporting to the Application Services Team Leader, the Senior Applications Specialist ensures resolution through effective Incident, Problem and Change management processes, striving for Continuous Services Improvement. The Senior Applications Specialist will also manage a wide range of program and project management activities, as directed, contributing to the development and delivery of multiple projects while following project management methodologies.
