Under the guidance of a new General Manager and Executive team, Wingecarribee Shire Council is embarking on the implementation of a strategic organisational transformation to position the business to actively plan for and manage significant positive changes to its operations and culture, in addition to meeting the demands and satisfying the expectations of our community.

About the role

We have a number of opportunities for experienced Plant Operators to join our Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) team based in Moss Vale. The RRC is a council run, regional waste recycling, collection and transfer facility aiming to facilitate the reduction of the volume of local waste going into landfill.

Plant Operators at the RRC operate a fleet of small and large plant to support the primary aim of the facility – to divert waste from landfill whilst providing excellent customer service, making a positive contribution to our community.

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you should:
  • Have previous manual labouring experience gained in a multi-purpose construction or waste site
  • Possess a current Construction Induction White Card
  • Be licensed to operate or have verification of competency in any or all of the following; Loader, Material Handler and/ or Forklift
  • Be self-motivated and have the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment
  • Possess strong customer service and communication skills to deliver excellent service to our customers
  • Have an a eye for detail and a commitment to resource recovery
  • Have a practical understanding of Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental responsibilities
  • Possess a current NSW Drivers licence

Previous Local Government experience working at a waste management facility and a current Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers licence will be well regarded.
