EOI - Remote Planning Officer

• Full time or part time hours will be considered
• Remote work from anywhere within Western Australia considered
• Rate between $48.00 and $55.00 per hour (dependent on skills and experience)

We are seeking expressions of interest for a dynamic individual to assist the Development Services team in the role of Planning Officer.  We are flexible with days and hours, with the possibility of working remotely from anywhere in Western Australia for the right candidate/s.  The team is very busy with a high volume of applications and this role will suit someone with substantial demonstrated experience in Western Australian local government planning.

Planners at the City of Busselton are exposed to a wide variety of residential, commercial, tourism and rural developments and a broad range of issues including development in environmentally sensitive areas, bushfire, coastal processes, vegetation removal, extractive industries etc.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Degree Urban & Regional Planning, or equivalent qualification;
• Minimum three years’ experience as a planner in a local government (WA) context;
• Highly developed skills in statutory interpretation and practical understanding of the Planning and Development Act 2005;
• Highly developed analytical, conceptual and design skills;
• Highly developed written communication and collaborative negotiation skills;
• Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
