The Opportunity

Positioned within the Community Development team, this exciting opportunity will see you working collaboratively with our community and organisation to develop and oversee Moonee Valley’s Community Funding Policy and Community Grants Program through the delivery of a centralised grants program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of Council’s centralised Community Grants Program and financial support programs, including strategic planning, assessment and reporting processes;
  • Lead the continuous improvement review of the Community Funding Policy and Community Grants Program;
  • Prepare responsive, factual, concise reports and briefings to the Executive Team and Council for endorsement;
  • Oversee, monitor and manage annual budget spending of grant allocations and program expenses;
  • Coordinate the operations of the Grants Advisory Committee and any other advisory groups established to support the delivery of the program;
  • Develop the marketing and branding for the grants program;
  • Lead the development and delivery of training mediums; and,
  • Oversee the use and management of electronic grants management systems and maintain relevant databases and administration.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualifications in social science, community development or a related discipline along with relevant demonstrated experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing grants programs within a local government context;
  • Developed sense of political acumen and ability to develop sensitive reports, briefings to senior management and Council meetings;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive issues with the community involving a broad range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to network, maintain partnerships, and skill to presents information in public forums;
  • Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
