We are currently looking for an individual experienced in horticulture to join the City’s Horticulture team for a 12 month period, with the genuine potential for ongoing work.  As a Horticulture Team Member you will participate in the design, establishment and maintenance of the City’s many parks, gardens and reserves, in accordance with established City of Busselton policies and procedures.

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following selection criteria: 

  • Have previous experience in a horticulture role where you have undertaken a wide range of parks and gardens maintenance and development activities.
  • Possess a relevant formal qualification, ideally in horticulture.
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of horticultural maintenance practices and techniques, including the ability to correctly use a range of small plant and equipment.
  • Possess a recognised qualification in chemical handling/application.
  • Have the proven ability to work well in a team, and excellent customer service skills.

The successful applicant is also required to hold a Construction Safety Awareness Certificate (White Card) and be able to obtain a National Police Clearance not more than six months old.

A HR class driver’s licence and a chainsaw certificate of competency would be advantageous.
