The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Statutory Planning, this role forms part of the Statutory Planning Administration Team. The Support Officer will assist in the delivery of statutory planning services and respond to the current and future needs of both the organisation and the community. The Support Officer is responsible for the maintenance of planning records, the management of a high volume of incoming and outgoing correspondence, the provision of general administrative support to planning officers and identified process improvements.

About You

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, the City of Ballarat is seeking an experienced administration officer, ideally with previous local government experience, though this is not essential.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Minimum of VCE or equivalent
  • Possession of excellent word processing skills and working knowledge of relevant software packages
  •  Possession of excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service and office administration role including financial (orders) management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills consistent with the position description requirements.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new situations, show initiative and positively respond to challenges and strive for continuous improvement in service provision.
  • Experience in a planning administration role.
  • Good working knowledge of systems and processes applicable to an office environment designed to improve efficiencies and service delivery.
