Mitchell Shire Council is one of Victoria's fastest growing municipalities on Melbourne's northern growth corridor Mitchell Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest for Pool Lifeguards to work on a casual basis within the municipality at any of our aquatic facilities. As well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks, lifeguards will act as positive role models within the facilities that we manage.

This role is responsible for undertaking pool lifeguard duties to support the aquatic service, supporting the provision of a safe environment for patrons, ensuring that the Aquatic Facilities operates in a clean, hygienic and safe manner in accordance with health regulations and public safety requirements.

About you

You will be energetic, passionate and fun. You will be able to deal with safety hazards associated with the operation of the pool, and look after day to day tasks like the kiosk and entry gate. You work well within a team, have outstanding communication skills and enjoy dealing with the public. You take initiative and are professional in your approach.

Skills and Attributes:

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to provide great customer service.
• Reliable and flexible work ethic – availability across a 7 day roster and Summer Season
• Current level 2 first aid Unit code HLTAID003,
• Current Employee Working with Children Check
• Current Pool Lifeguard qualification.
• Willingness to undertake National Police Check
• Anaphylactic certificates (desirable)
• Pool Operation Certificate (desirable)
• Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role
• Knowledge Point of Sale Software (desirable)
