Permanent full-time It's an exciting time to be in Invercargill and a privilege to work in this region. Waihōpai Invercargill is New Zealand's southernmost city and the heart and hub of Southland. We're known for our lush green spaces like Queens Park, our long summer daylight hours, and our local legend Burt Munro. Our city has character, charm and a laidback atmosphere. There's outstanding nature reserves, Ōreti Beach, the Waihōpai River, a lively restaurant scene and a sensible gridded layout with wide streets and a 10-minute drive to work. We are in a chapter of immense growth, building a vibrant city centre and reinvigorating our culture and spaces, and this is an exciting time to join a Council that is focused on the future of our people and our city. We are looking for a confident and capable IT Project Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of technology projects. This is a client-facing role and requires an enthusiastic, personable, and service-oriented team player. Our preferred candidate will have in-depth knowledge of IT Project Management and methodology best practices, together with the motivation to learn and continually develop. Our successful candidate will have demonstrable experience with a strong, proven, track record of delivering multiple concurrent projects in a fast-moving, client-led environment, on-time and to budget. Our new team member will be a strong communicator who can work collaboratively with Council staff, managers, and external stakeholders to provide Project Management expertise and guidance for IT related projects. This includes assistance for stakeholders to articulate their business case, confirming project alignment to organisational strategic objectives, feasibility analysis, defining project scope and objectives, resourcing, change management, scheduling, testing plans, commissioning, and transition to operational support. You should also have the ability to challenge existing configurations and business processes in order to achieve the best system solution designs and customer outcomes. Candidates will display technical "know-how" enabling them to identify breaks in the project process. To be successful in this position you will have:
