About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior leadership role will see you taking lead in the economic development of the region and beyond. Your role will facilitate the job creation, workforce development and innovation in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of vision and strategy for economic development in the region;
  • Promote strategies for attracting and developing economic opportunities and investment;
  • Liaise with key industry sector groups, community and government partnerships;
  • Conduct economic and demographic research and keep abreast of emerging factors that impact on the region’s economic well-being;
  • Provide advice on future economic forecasts and directions to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team;
  • Prepare and submit reports for the Executive Leadership team as required.

Skills & Experience required

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, economics or other relevant discipline;
  • Proven high-level experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing economic development programs and activities;
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully achieving positive outcomes from economic development initiatives;
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of economic trends, industry directions and challenges and use of informatics to take an evidence-based approach;
  • Ability to establish rewarding partnerships with a diverse range of industry, community and government stakeholders.
