We currently have vacancy in our Parks and Recreation team to help make Wollondilly an even better place, together.

As the Facilities & Recreation Planner, your day will consist of, but not be limited to:

  • Develop Policies, Strategies, Master Plans, Plans of Management, Studies and/or Reports relating to Community Facilities and Open Space.
  • Assist with reviewing and reporting on budgets, including preparation of the annual budgets and associated corporate reporting and grant applications.
  • Prepare reports/projects for Council on matters relevant to the position. Seek and secure funds and resources to assist the provision and implementation of identified priorities.
  • Investigate opportunities to increase usage of Council’s sport, recreation and community building facilities.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Appropriate Degree qualifications and four (4) years relevant work in land use planning or parks and recreation facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of Strategies, Plans, Studies, Specifications, Procurement and Council Reports relating to community facilities and open space developments/improvements.
  • Experience in preparation of Master Plans and Plans of Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the seeking and securing of funds and resources to assist the provision and implementation of facilities and recreation.
  • Prepare, manage and report on grant applications for community facilities and open space developments/improvements as required.
  • Ability to effectively prepare, coordinate, conduct and manage community meetings to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
