About the role

We have an opening for x 2 Principal Statutory Planners to join our collaborative and dedicated teams, following recent staff promotion.  Reporting to a Coordinator Statutory Planning, your expertise will be drawn upon for processing significant planning applications and undertaking major planning projects.  In this role you contribute to the future planning direction in our City and place community at the forefront.

As a leader in your field, you will take on a rewarding mentoring role to coach, guide and inspire others.  This role is pivotal to ensuring a high level of skill across the department in assessing planning applications and representing Council at VCAT.  The position will also work with Strategic Planning to ensure the functionality of planning scheme amendments, and play a significant part in improving process efficiencies. There is a focus on driving strong customer satisfaction - engaging, consulting and delivering to all stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner.

About you

As an experienced planner this is the perfect opportunity to take the next step in your career.  You have extensive experience in planning practice with an excellent working knowledge of the Victorian Planning System and planning principles.

You will work with your team to achieve big things and improve the capability uplift of the department.  You have the ability to liaise and collaborate with multi-disciplinary staff, management and key stakeholders on complex applications and projects. An ability to critically analyse planning issues make decisive and balanced decisions will contribute to your success in role.  You are someone who can work independently and manage competing interests.

A tertiary qualification in town planning or a related discipline is required.
