This is an exciting opportunity in a central role to coordinate the design and delivery of projects across the City of Port Phillip in the realisation of the Fisherman’s Bend urban renewal program

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity in a central role to coordinate the design and delivery of projects across the City of Port Phillip in the realisation of the Fisherman’s Bend urban renewal program. 

Fisherman’s Bend is Australia’s largest urban renewal project covering ~480 hectares in the heart of Melbourne. It consists of 5 precincts across City of Port Phillip (CoPP) and City of Melbourne and connects Melbourne to the Bay. Council works closely with the State Government and the City of Melbourne on the Fisherman’s Bend redevelopment plan which includes guidance for urban development and the delivery of parks, roads, transport and community facilities and services for the next 30 years.

You will report directly to the Manager Partnerships and Transport and work closely with stakeholders in State Government and the local community. You will work directly with senior management and coordinate input from leaders across the organisation, including planning, sustainability, community development, transport, economic development, recreation and open space, and asset management to achieve the vision for Fishermans Bend.

Duties:

  • Manage Council’s Fishermans Bend program in alignment with Council’s priorities.
  • Lead the development of Fishermans Bend strategic plans in collaboration with senior management. 
  • Align and coordinate subject specific internal and external working groups to input to the cross organisational Steering Group, CEO and Mayors Forums.
  • Provide expert project delivery advice and coordinate internal resources for Fishermans Bend projects in which Council is a key delivery stakeholder.

Skills and Experience 

  • Degree or diploma in Project Management or related discipline 
  • Extensive relevant program management experience including coordination and development of staff within a multi-disciplined team. 
  • Experience in project management, including development of multiple Business Cases with successful outcomes.
