COMMUNITY EMERGENCY SERVICES COORDINATOR


Status: Full-time (3-year fixed term contract)

Salary: Salary range of between $88,000.00 to $92,000.00, depending on experience, plus allowances and up to 15% superannuation. With restricted private use of a motor vehicle & additional benefits.

Opportunity:  

The role of a CESC is to assist with the development of resilient communities through the delivery of agreed outcomes. This is achieved by the CESC engaging with the community and volunteers and acting as a conduit between Local Government and DFES to achieve outcomes aligned with the principles of Prevention, Preparedness, Response & Recovery (PPRR) as identified in an agreed Business Plan. The role will be based between DFES Albany and Shire of Denmark Offices. 

We’re looking for someone who can;

  • Work in collaboration with DFES to improve the quality of emergency services and develop a best practice approach to emergency management within the Shire of Denmark.
  • Promote and support volunteer organisational arrangements that support the spirit of volunteering to attract and retain members.
  • Work autonomously at a high level with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrate high level administrative skills and understanding of technology utilising a range of computer systems.
  • Strengthen relationships within the community through a range of initiatives, with a focus on building community resilience and preparedness.
  • Accept responsibility, be solution focused, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Be a part of a strong team culture and demonstrate the ability to multitask within the team.
  • Look for opportunities to collaborate and problem solve.
  • Administer community and corporate risks effectively.
  • Champion the Shire’s vision, values and mission statement.
