Urban Water Assessment Officer


Permanent

Full-time (average of 38 hours per week)

Degree qualified in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or equivalent, this role provides you with the opportunity to positively contribute to the City’s land development by applying your specialist knowledge in the statutory and strategic planning processes.  You will ensure a combined approach to the assessment of District, Local and Urban Water Management Plans.  Responsible for assessing drainage proposals you will provide technical advice on sustainable drainage design and modelling.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Outline your understanding of the Better Urban Water Framework and your ability to interpret and analyse technical data and perform compound analysis in the provision of stormwater and groundwater controls associated with land development
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and construction of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles, including the use of specialist engineering design computer software (e.g. XP-STORM).
  3. Knowledge of subdivisional, planning and development procedures and statutory requirements for developments
  4. Quality communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills

We are offering a gross cash salary of $93,738 per annum and

  • 11% superannuation plus the opportunity to co-contribute up to 14.5%
