  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall or During COVID-19 Pandemic, with ELT/DHHS direction, this role can work from home.

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.  

About the Role

We are seeking candidates with a passion for providing exceptional customer service to our community and our organisation. The City of Port Phillip pride itself on the overall customer experience and being able to deliver First Point Resolution. 

Working as part of the Customer Experience Team, we are striving to build a team with of vision of becoming an industry-leading organisation delivering outstanding customer experience and community outcomes. 

Part-time candidates should be able to work across our service hours of Monday to Friday between 8.30am – 5.00pm. 

Duties:

  • Provide the first point of escalation for a broad range of inquiries, requests and complaints. 
  • Accurately and efficiently resolve enquiries, requests, complaints and issues
  • Develop relationships with key service areas within City of Port Phillip and provide customer service support aligned with high quality standards
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Council services, activities and events. 

Skills and Experience 

  • Advanced skills in customer service delivery with the ability to solve most customer requests, inquiries, complaints, issues and cases.
  • Proficient computer skills and high-level knowledge and understanding of business applications / systems including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, CRM and cash handling systems.
  • Knowledge of the cashiering role and functions, including cash control and handling procedures and an ability to handle large amounts of cash accurately.
  • Proven ability to learn new procedures and utilise the skills necessary to retain important information.
  • Basic understanding of the operations of Local Government.
