The Opportunity

Positioned within Council’s Planning and Building Department, this opportunity will see you gain a wealth of experience and development within the Building industry for both commercial and private dwellings.

Reporting directly to the Coordinator Building Services, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist in accepting building related applications including building permit and report and consent applications;
  • Assist in providing customer service to the public by attending the Customer Service Counter and answering telephone enquires where required;
  • With guidance, assist in the inspections of buildings and structures within the municipality;
  • Assist in the preparation of building submissions and registering building applications.

About You

To be suitable for this position, you will possess:

  • Commenced or completed a Diploma of Building services or relevant which meets the academic requirements for registering as a building inspector or building surveyor in Victoria;
  • Knowledge of the Building Regulations 2018, the Building Act 1993 and the National Construction Code;
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office and other Corporate Computer Systems specific to building related applications;
  • Current and valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
