The Role Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, you will be the 2IC in the workshop and responsible for day- to-day organisation of the workshop within the Operations Management Branch. This is a hands on role responsible for supervising the mechanical workshop team including the coordination and scheduling of preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance of Council's vehicle fleet, plant and equipment. The role is responsible for ensuring all mechanical staff undertake correct procedures and safe work practices. Flexibility to work an on call roster will be required to promptly attend to out of hours breakdowns particularly garbage trucks and RFS vehicles. Council’s plant workshop operates a day shift and afternoon shift that is rotated on a weekly basis. About you We are looking for a qualified Motor or Plant Mechanic with organisational skills to oversee and organise the mechanical workshop. You must have good verbal and written communications skills, show initiative and the ability to work in a safe manner and to follow WHS instructions. You must have:
The Rewards: Salary negotiable from $1307.91+ Adverse working conditions allowance of $16.70 + super will be negotiated with the successful applicant commensurate with Licences, skills and experience.
