About the position

This position supports Council in the coordination of a range of complex systems in relation to management of business improvement, integrated planning, communications and policy management.

For over four decades it has been at the heart of the State’s energy industry; with two of NSW’s base load power generators located in the Shire, Bayswater and Liddell. Muswellbrook Shire’s coal industry exports 25% of NSW’s thermal coal, it is the home of the two largest thoroughbred horse studs in the southern hemisphere, it produces a large volume of the Hunters viticulture and is home to the largest dairy industry in the Hunter.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will need;

  • Degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Communications, Public Administration, Business) or equivalent.
  • High level computer literacy with significant experience and confidence in the use data base and analytics.
  • High level communication skills, written and interpersonal, analytical skills, numeracy and ability to assess complex reports.
  • A strategic understanding of issues and how key stakeholders affect Council undertakings.

We Offer

  • Part Time Term Contract, 28 hours per week for a period up until 6 February 2021 with the potential to increase to 35 hours per week for a period up until 6 November 2022
  • Hourly Rate from $39.0063 to $43.8251 per hour (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • Plus 10% superannuation
