The Opportunity

This position will see you leading, supervising and guiding Kindergarten programs and staff to ensure the effective day to day operations of Council’s sessional Kindergartens. The role also comprises of a teaching component ensuring the delivery of a quality education and care program that caters for the individual needs of all children.

In addition to leading and supervising our Kindergarten Teachers, Co-Educators, Students and Volunteers, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing, delivering and maintaining high quality inclusive play-based emergent programs to enhance the children’s learning and development;
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with the Early Years learning Frameworks, National Law and the Education and Care Services National Regulations; and,
  • Mentoring staff in both the Kindergarten services unit and across Council as an Educational Leader

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), or other relevant approved ACECQA qualification;
  • A current Victorian Institute of Teachers registration (VIT) with Exemplary status (highly desirable);
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the legislative requirements, regulations and developmental frameworks within the early childhood sector, such as the National and State Early Years Learning Frameworks;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising and mentoring staff within the Early Years Sector;
  • Current Working with Children’s Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management Certificates.
