Local Laws Officer – Animal Services After Hours

Our Safe and Healthy Environments team is currently looking for a new team member who has communication skills to play a key role in emergency animal control outside of normal business hours for the City of Greater Bendigo. This role will involve working a rotating roster 7 days on, 7 days off, to provide a prompt response to afterhours complaints and pro-actively undertake the delivery of Animal Management Services. This includes attending to customer requests, providing feedback and conduct regular animal compliance patrols.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong commitment to providing high level customer service and enjoy being part of a great team. You will also need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. Knowledge and experience in handling a variety of animals, such as dogs, horses, cattle and sheep is preferred.

Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory police record check and working with children check. A current Victorian driver’s licence is essential.
