Location: Emerald, Central Queensland

Term: Permanent Full Time Position

Salary:  Stream A, Level 7:  $98,609.95 – $103,956.97 + superannuation

Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking an experienced Rates Coordinator to join the Finance Team based in Emerald.  In this role, you will be supporting  and mentoring a busy rates team whilst overseeing accounts receivable, revenue and rating functions.  You will also partner with the Manager Finance to drive the development of these functions and take responsibility for council’s rate book and associated processes.

In this leadership position, the Coordinator of Rates and Revenue will be instrumental in driving this critical function within Corporate Services.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring the efficient operation of Council’s rate and accounts receivable functions
  • Leading and developing 4 team members across the rates and accounts receivable functions
  • Budget and Financial reporting and analysis responsibility
  • Implementing improvements to procedures across systems and processes.

To be successful in this position, you will possess: 

  • Local Government knowledge of relevant legislative related to the rating function
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology One oneCouncil Property & Rating module
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to adapt to changing deadlines
  • A customer centric service approach to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skill
