About the role

The Manager Strategic Policy & Projects provides a centralised, whole-of-directorate leadership function to scope, develop and implement solutions that respond to the diverse strategic challenges facing Isaac communities. The role supports the Director PECS in delivery of high-level research and investigation tasks, preparation of detailed reports and discussion papers, formulation of policies, strategies, plans and budgets, and is a strategic enabler for each of the PECS departments in development of robust, evidence-based policy and consistent project delivery standards. 

The role will work to develop and grow enduring capacity across the Directorate.  It will work to optimise and measure, record and report on the Noble purpose elements of engagement, trust, innovation and value creation across the Directorate.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Public Relations, Public Policy, Law, Social Sciences, Community Development, Community Engagement, Urban and Regional Planning, Project Management or another relevant field is highly desirable;
• Extensive working history (minimum 5 years) in development and delivery of community-facing policy, programs and/or projects, with demonstrated positive development outcomes being achieved for rural and regional communities;
• Demonstrated corporate experience in strategic framework development, change management, communications, consultation or relevant field;
• Experience in developing and maintaining stakeholder networks generally and in the context of sustainable relationships in a dynamic government environment.

What we are offering:

• Five (5) year fixed-term contract;
• Attractive remuneration package, inclusive of accommodation and limited private-use vehicle;
• Flexible working arrangements (minimum 30 hours per week);
• 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading;
• 12% super in accordance with Council Policy;
• Based in the Isaac Region.
