Senior Rates Officer

Council is seeking applications from highly motivated, performance oriented people to join Council in the role of Senior Rates Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the rates and annual charges functions in accordance with the Local Government Act and oversee Council’s Water Billing and Revenue function.

The applicant will hold a TAFE qualification or higher in Business Administration/Finance or related discipline with at least 4 year’s relevant work experience in a computerised environment. An understanding of the Local Government Act in respect of Rates and Charges or ability and willingness to learn is essential. The successful applicant will be a customer focused person with excellent interpersonal skills.

Salary and conditions: The position is Grade 12 in Council’s salary system ($69,862.00 - $78,239.20 per annum) depending upon qualifications and experience plus 10% superannuation. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. The full time position is 35 hours per week with a monthly Rostered Day Off.

Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a ‘Drug and Alcohol’ screening, ‘Functional Assessment’ and ‘Criminal History Check’. It is also a requirement, on commencement, to provide evidence of being fully Covid-19 vaccinated.
