This new opportunity of Environmental and Resource Planner will see you join our Technical Services & Design team who provide an in-house consultancy service for design and other related technical services for the delivery of the City's capital programme. You will provide technical expertise and advice on planning and consents and provide support for assessments, evaluation, and reporting on environmental issues, aimed at promoting anticipated or improved environmental outcomes. You'll work closely with your team and the wider organisation and be involved in the design process, working with consultancies, and sharing information with the Regional Council and other external Government agencies. Therefore, your relationship management skills and your ability to protect and build the Council's reputation as a leader in environmental best practice would be considered a high priority. We're looking for someone with a sound working knowledge and appreciation of the Resource Management Act and its principles as well as a good understanding and experience in local government planning, policy, and project delivery.
