About the Opportunity

Parkes Shire Council is looking for a Senior Grants Officer and a Grants Officer to join our team.

These roles are fundamental to the future development of Parkes Shire. Grants allow Council to fast-track major infrastructure projects and assist community groups in realising their dream projects! These valued projects add to the fabric and vibrancy of the community. As a Grants Officer you get to watch these projects develop from inception to completion - a very satisfying job!

Council is seeking two driven/fast-paced community minded people with highly developed communication and writing skills, who are able to multi task and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including funding bodies and community groups.

No day is ever the same in the Parkes Grants team, and over the last five years the Grants team has been responsible for securing over $64 million in funding!

Both roles offer flexible working arrangements and part-time work can be negotiated. 

Essential Criteria

Senior Grants Officer

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline such as project management, communications, business / economics, or social science
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
  • Current and maintained NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • National Police History Check will be required
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia

Grants Officer

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Diploma qualifications in relevant discipline or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience, preferably in a similar role
  • Current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia

Benefits

Senior Grants Officer

  • Flexibility and part-time working hours available (standard working week is 35 hours with a fortnightly RDO)
  • The Grade applicable to the position is Grade 13 to 15 within Council's salary structure.
  • The salary range for this position is $73,000 ($40/hr) to $94,000 ($51/hr) (salary will be pro rated based on hours negotiated).
  • Starting salary to be determined dependent upon the qualifications and experience of successful applicant

Grants Officer

  • Flexibility and part-time working hours available (standard working week is 35 hours with a fortnightly RDO)
  • The Grade applicable to the position is Grade 13 within Council's salary structure.
  • The salary range for this position is $73,000 ($40/hr) to $85,000 ($46/hr) (salary will be pro rated based on hours negotiated).
  • Starting salary to be determined dependent upon the qualifications and experience of successful applicant
