About the opportunity

Blacktown City Council is seeking a motivated and experienced candidate to make a significant contribution to our property services. Working within Council’s Property section, you would be coordinating the timely delivery of land acquisition projects as approved by Council. The position will lead a small team of property professionals in the management of the Council's property portfolio.

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Provide support to the Chief Property Officer
  • Provide high level and professional advice on all property-related aspects.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Degree qualifications in Property or Land Economy or a similar field
  • Solid experience in a similar role
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a team and the capacity to lead staff to achieve corporate objectives
  • Current Class “C” driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Eligible for membership of the Australian Property Institute or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in the acquisition of land and property for public purpose
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a cohesive property team
  • Postgraduate studies in Property or a related field.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • A competitive salary range of $2,008.70 - $2,249.70 (Grade 18) per week will be offered based on skills, qualifications and experience
  • A competitive salary will be negotiated with the preferred candidate based on qualifications and experience
  • 35 hour working week 
  • Car allowance
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
